Some of you might wonder why there is no mention of Galaxy S8 series phones or the Note 8 series phones. Samsung only provides guaranteed software updates for two years from the date of launch. Both the Galaxy S8 and Note 8 are more than two years older, So Galaxy S8 and Note 8 users won’t be getting the OneUI 2.0 update in the future.
When will One UI 2.0 Beta and Stable version be released?
Samsung is not really loved among its customers when it comes to fast software updates. However, we see Samsung making an extra effort this year. Already a bunch of other smartphone manufacturers such as Xiaomi’s MIUI 11 are rolling out Android 10 based updates for their flagship devices (besides the obvious Pixel devices). Samsung in response is going to roll out public beta updates of One UI 2.0 for the Samsung Galaxy S10 and Note 10 devices. We will see it in action by the end of October 2019 as per some reports.
If the beta updates roll out successfully in October 2019 then a One UI 2.0 stable update will be just around the corner following that. Last year Samsung Galaxy S9 received the Android 9 based OneUI 1.0 update towards the end of the month of December. Galaxy Note 9 devices were the next batch to receive the update. So, Samsung has a slow track record. But this time around with the beta version releasing in October, we will have a stable release before the end of November 2019.
