The GPU industry is seeing quite some development as users have started anticipating product launches from different companies. There have been many leaks and rumors adding to this anticipation.
A company that holds the most significant market share of graphics cards is NVIDIA, which apparently has a lot going on. People have been waiting for their upcoming GeForce RTX 50 series for a while now. And it seems like the launch is not too far away. The last development we heard of was in June.
Seasonic Wattage Calculator Shows GeForce RTX 50 Series Cards in GPU Models List
A user on X (formerly Twitter) was the first to note that Seasonic’s wattage calculator website gives various GeForce RTX 50 series graphics cards as models to choose from for a PC configuration.
The option to choose a GPU appears at the second step of the process. One of the features of this website is that it allows you to view the GPU’s thermal design power (TDP) once you download and open your saved configuration as a text file.
The findings reveal that the flagship product of this series, the GeForce RTX 5090, could have 500W of TDP. This is a bump up from the 450W TDP of its predecessor, the GeForce RTX 4090. The RTX 5080 will also get a 30W jump to 350W from the 320W TDP of the RTX 4080.
The increment also seems similar on the RTX 5070, with a 20W boost to a total of 220W from the 200W TDP of the RTX 4070. The RTX 5060, as per the same source, will get the highest TDP increase across all lineups; the details show it will be rated at 170W. This is a 55W bump from the RTX 4060, which came with a TDP of 115W.
Lastly, there is the RTX 5050, which will feature a TDP of 100W.
Interestingly, we can also see this card’s desktop version this time. In case you did not know, the RTX 4050 is exclusive to laptops.
When Will NVIDIA Launch Their GeForce RTX 50 Series Graphics Cards?
We will most likely be seeing the RTX 50 series by the end of this year. The first launches will be of the higher-end cards. The more pocket-friendly options may follow them early next year.
On a related note, a renowned leaker has recently stated that NVIDIA plans to launch the RTX 5080 first this year instead of the RTX 5090. We will find out how true that is in the upcoming weeks.
Also, please note that the information provided in this post is based on the assumption that the source is correct. At the end of the day, it is still a leak and not confirmed by the company. Therefore, it should be taken with a pinch of salt. Hopefully, it will not be too long before we get the official statements.
