Nokia Edge 2020: Everything We Know So Far

We have some news about a new Nokia device hitting the market this year. A few days ago, the “Science And Knowledge” YouTube channel, in collaboration with Targetyoutube, published a conceptual video for the future Nokia flagship smartphone of 2020. The video shows the rendering of the phone revealing some details about the upcoming alleged Nokia Edge 2020. The company has not announced the name of the flagship phone and its features, so take this article with a pinch of salt. Let’s take a look at what we know so far.

Nokia Edge 2020 Smartphone

This looks like a flagship offering from Nokia and is said to come with Android 11 out of the box. Now we all know Google has not yet released Android 11 and will only reveal and release it somewhere around the month of October this year. So if the Android 11 news holds, then we will have the launch coming in the last few months of 2020. Besides the software front, the Nokia Edge 2020 will have all the 2020 flagship hardware.

Specifications & Features

The Nokia Edge 2020 is rumored to come with a 6.3-inch P-OLED FHD+ resolution display that covers the entire of the device’s front side. We get the latest Snapdragon 865 with 8GB/10GB of RAM along with 128GB/256GB of internal storage. In terms of Optics, we will have a triple-lens primary camera setup with a 64MP primary lens. As for the front side, it is rumored to come with a dual-camera setup with a primary 32MP shooter. The interesting fact here is that the renders reveal the front camera setup to be present below the front display, like an under-display front camera.

In terms of battery, it is rumored to pack in a 4320 mAh battery with support for 45W cabled charging and 25W Qi wireless charging. As for the connectivity, it is rumored to have Wi-Fi 802.11ac (2.4 GHz + 5 GHz), Bluetooth 5.0 LE, A-GPS, BDS, NFC, GLONASS modules, and a 5G modem. The Snapdragon 865 does come with support for 5G, so this can be quite expected from a flagship in 2020. For storage expansion, one can use the hybrid slot on board and make an expansion of up to 1TB. It will also come with Gorilla Glass 6 on both sides, the front and the back, with a metal polished frame holding it all together.

Price in India

As of now, nothing about this phone is certain and official. We have only had rumors, leaks, and renders suggesting towards a device like this from Nokia. So even if it launches soon, we can expect to see a price tag of around 900$. That means the Nokia Edge 2020 price in India could be Rs. 64,499 approximately. Yes, this seems like a lot for a Nokia device, but looking at the specs on the sheet here, one can see that Nokia might go all the way here with this rumored device.

Release Date

Talking about its launch timeline, We are still a few months away from Nokia announcing its latest flagship phones, but we are already starting to see leaks and rumors. It is expected that the Nokia Edge 2020 will be released in November 2020.
