Nokia 9’s Alleged Render Leaked with Dual Selfie Cameras

HMD Global’s upcoming flagship, the Nokia 9, is the talk of the town. Today, an alleged render of the device has surfaced on the Chinese media platform Weibo. It’s not the first leaked render of the device; earlier this month, a couple of renders of the device surfaced online. Also, it got FCC certification and 3C certification earlier. The device has also been spotted in GeekBench, where it has recorded a score of 1,910 in the single-core test. In the multi-core test, it has scored 6,796. It had the model number TA-1005 and the codename Avatar.

The leaked render suggests the Nokia 9 will have an 18:9 aspect ratio and Full Screen dual curved surface display with minimum bezels. Also, it confirms the presence of a dual camera setup on the front. Interestingly, the Nokia branding tag is missing from the render.

As per earlier leaks, the Nokia 9 will be sporting a 5.5-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of QHD (2160 x 1440 pixels) supplied by LG. It will be powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, featuring a dual camera setup (12 MP +13 MP) on the rear and a dual-tone LED flash. The device will also have IP67-rated waterproof for water and dust protection. There will be no 3.5 mm headphone jack, but the Ozo spatial 360˚ audio technology will be included.

There will likely be two device variants: 6 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage and 6 GB RAM + 128 GB internal storage, offering a microSD card slot for further expansion. Regarding software, it is speculated to come with Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box. But there is the possibility of shipping with Android Nougat at first and getting an Oreo update later. The connectivity features on board are expected to be 4G LTE, single and dual-SIM variants, VoLTE (voice over LTE), dual-band Wi-Fi, NFC, USB Type-C, and A-GPS. The smartphone is speculated to be backed by a 3,250mAh battery.

The device is speculated to cost CNY 3,699 (Rs 36,400 approx) for the lower variant and CNY 4,199 (Rs 41,300 approx) for the upper variant. The rumors indicate that the Nokia 9 will be unveiled at the HMD product conference scheduled for January 19, 2018. HMD Global itself said they would be launching high-end flagships. Also, they may get an early preview at CES 2018, starting from January 9 to January 12 next year.
