Nokia 9 Gets FCC Certification with TA-1005 Model Number; Reveals Specification

There have been rumors about HMD Global’s latest flagship, the Nokia 9, but it was shrouded in mysteries until now. A Nokia smartphone has been spotted on the FCC certification website with model number TA-1005. We reported previously that this is the Nokia 9’s model number. The device is expected to be placed above the Nokia 9, making it the costliest smartphone by HMD to date.

The Nokia TA-1005, aka Nokia 9 FCC certification, reveals the device has 128 GB of internal space and will run Android 8.0 Oreo. The device will be powered by a 3,250 mAh battery. From previous leaks, we know the Nokia 9 will have two more variants with model numbers TA-1009 and TA-1042, which hints that the device may be available in a 64 GB internal memory variant. The smartphone also received 3C certification weeks ago.

The smartphone will be following the bezel-less trend with a sharp look. It will be powered by an Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, featuring a dual camera setup (13 MP +13 MP) on the rear and a dual-tone LED flash. The device will also have IP67-rated waterproof for water and dust protection. There will be no 3.5 mm headphone jack, but the  Ozo spatial 360˚ audio technology will be included.

These rumors indicate that the Nokia 9 will be unveiled at the HMD  product conference scheduled for January 19, 2018. HMD Global itself said they would be launching high-end flagships. Also, they may get an early preview at CES 2018, starting from January 9 to January 12 next year.
