Idea Cellular releases a new software update for its Idea app. This update brings a whole lot of changes though. Among all, the top two features added by Idea cellular to this update are My Coupons and Nirvana Postpaid Plans. The latest version found on the Google play store is v2.9.9. It is up and running and available for anyone to download from the play store. There Idea Cellular customers using an Android smartphone can head over to the Play Store to download the latest version. Although the app is available for iOS users too, this new update has not rolled out to them yet.
Now let’s talk about all the new features added to the MyIdea App v2.9.9. There is an additional language support of Malayalam language making the user interface simpler for them. Idea also added two new features to this version, named as Smart Alerts and Family Tunes.
However, the two features to note for now are the My Coupons and Idea Nirvana plans. A new feature ‘Validity Accumulation’ was integrated by Idea Cellular recently. With this new integration, the customers have the flexibility to recharge a single plan multiple times and store them in their account for later use. However, once the current plan comes to an end, the customer can avail another recharge coupon. Now since the validity accumulation feature is yet to be released officially, we will have to wait and see in which niche(category) it will be indeed segregated.
Going to the app and checking out what’s new, you will find the following items :
- My idea app now in Malayalam.
- View your Coupons (for use in future recharges).
- Parental Controls.
- Smart Alerts (to keep track of your plans and new offers).
- Family Tunes.
- Idea phone secure
This new validity accumulation feature from Idea cellular is somewhat identical to the Reliance Jio’s ‘My Vouchers’ feature. However, Reliance Jio’s My Voucher feature is in use as it came into effect a few months ago. The latest update to the application also brings the Idea Phone Secure feature for the customers.
Another noteworthy feature added to the application is the Nirvana plans. This is for the postpaid Idea Cellular customers. They now have the flexibility to change their Idea postpaid plan to Nirvana plan and then choose a plan as per requirements. The Idea Nirvana postpaid plans start from a range of Rs 389 per month. These plans then go all the way up to Rs 2,999 per month. The Idea Nirvana postpaid plans are also somewhat identical to Vodafone RED’s postpaid plans.
Idea Cellular now sits at the third spot as the country’s one of the largest telecom operator. In the future, there is news that it will join Vodafone India. Following that, it might even acquire the first spot on the leaderboard. Idea has always added some new feature to their updates. Even in the last update of the MyIdea application, Idea Cellular added new features like Idea News, Idea Magazines and My Network features.
