Motorola Phone with Pop-Up Selfie Camera Surfaced Online

Motorola is getting ready to bring yet another One-series smartphone in India, dubbed Motorola One Macro. The company has started teasing the arrival of the One Macro. However, the company is also planning to launch a new smartphone with a pop-up selfie camera, but this is not the Motorola One Macro. It’s unclear whether the pop-up selfie camera phone will arrive under Motorola’s G-series or One-series branding.

Update 2/11/2019: Motorola XT2027-3 gets Thailand’s NBTC certification. The listing reveals that the model XT2027-3 will be called Motorola One Hyper, and it will launch soon in Thailand. It could be Motorola’s upcoming pop-up selfie camera phone. Motorola Mobility manufactures the device in the USA. No other details about the phone have appeared on the NBTC website.

The live images of an unknown Motorola device have surfaced online via Motorola Latin America community’s Facebook page, revealing the phone’s design.

Let’s look at the rear side of the phone. We see a dual camera setup with an LED flash, an illuminated Moto batwing logo, probably for notifications, and Motorola branding with the Moto logo and the company’s name. The finish on the rear side may be a glossy glass to give users a premium feel.

The front panel shows a notch-less display with little or no bezels and a thin bottom chin. The pop-up selfie camera with a single lens on the device is placed towards the right side of the top edge. On the bottom bezel, there is a confidential marking that reads “Motorola confidential property not for sale.”

As there is no fingerprint scanner on the back and front, we expect the device will pack an in-display fingerprint scanner or Face Unlock for biometric authentication.

Currently, there are no words about the specifications and launch date of Motorola’s upcoming pop-up camera phone. We expect more details will be revealed in the coming weeks once the phone passes the certification process from various platforms such as FCC, NCC, NBTC, etc.
