Today Motorola has launched the Moto 1S smartphone in China. It’s the same rebranded Moto G6 smartphone which the Lenovo owned company launched last month in Brazil and is the successor of the Moto G5 launched last year. It comes with P2i water-repellent nano-coating measuring 153.8 x 72.3 x 8.3 mm and weighs 168 g. Unfortunately, there is no Chinese variant of the Moto G6 Play as of now.
The Moto 1S features a 5.7 inch Max Vision IPS display with a resolution of FHD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) and an aspect ratio of 18:9. Under the hood, it will be powered by the 1.8GHz Snapdragon 450 with Adreno 506 GPU coupled with 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal storage options with expandable options with a microSD card up to 128GB.
The smartphone offers a dual camera set up at the back consisting of a 12 MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture,1.25μm pixel size and a secondary 5 MP camera for depth sensing. It’s all cased inside a circular casing in Moto-style. The front offers an 8MP camera with LED flash for selfies and video calling.
The device runs ZUI 3.5 built on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery with TurboPower charging via the proprietary charger. Connectivity features includes 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n (2.4 GHz and 5 GHz), Bluetooth 4.2, GPS, USB Type-C. Additionally, it comes with front ported loudspeakers, 3 mics, 3.5mm headphone jack, and a front-mounted fingerprint sensor.
The Moto 1S is being offered in Blue and Gold color options and comes with a price tag of 1499 yuan (Rs 16,000 approx) competing against the likes of mid-rangers like Honor 7X, Redmi Note 5 pro. It is available on Lenovo online shop. The Moto G6 along the Moto G6 Play is also teased for the Indian market, but an official launch date is still to be announced.
