Last year, Xiaomi pulled the curtains on MIUI 12 globally. We got to see what’s new with the new version of MIUI and the interface has been changed indeed with lots of attention given to small details, like the corners of icons and windows. The stable version of MIUI 12 was started pushing out to the eligible Xiaomi devices starting from June 2020. Now Xiaomi has unveiled MIUI 13 at an event in China. The new UI focuses on stability and bug fixes.
What is MIUI 13?
MIUI 13 is a custom skin for Mi, Redmi and Poco phones. It is based on the Android 12 or Android 11 operating system. In other words, MIUI 13 is a modified version of Android with additional features. MIUI 13 has improved fluency by 15% to 52% compared to last year’s MIUI 12.5. It packs several features including system-level anti-fraud protection and a customizable Xiao AI virtual assistant.
MIUI 13 Release Date
MIUI 13 was launched on December 28, 2021, alongside Xiaomi 12 series. For China, the first MIUI 13 public beta build will be released in January 2022. For global users, MIUI 13 update will be rolled out in Q1 2022. The stable build will be rolled out later. At present, we don’t know the exact MIUI 13 release date for each Xiaomi device.

The above list is an unofficial list that is prepared based on the company’s previous track record. All 2020/2021’s phones will be eligible for the MIUI 13 update. Also, all Xiaomi phones that arrived in the market with pre-installed MIUI 11 will likely get MIUI 13 Update. You can check here if your Xiaomi device gets Android 12 based MIUI 13 or not.
Tipster Digital Chat Station claims that all Xiaomi phones released in the last two years will be eligible for MIUI 13 update. Xiaomi usually provides three MIUI upgrades for flagships and premium mid-rangers while budget handsets get two MIUI update.
As per the MyDrivers report, Xiaomi 11, Xiaomi 11 Ultra, Redmi K40 Pro, Redmi K40 Pro+, and Xiaomi 11 Youth Edition will include on the list of the first batch of devices set to receive the MIUI 13 update.
