Recently, Xiaomi tweeted on the Xiaomi India Twitter handle, announcing the launch of a 108MP smartphone on January 5, 2021. As per the short teaser video by Xiaomi, it is seen that the smartphone will have a quad-camera module with a 108MP main camera, and by the looks of the video, we are pretty sure it will be the new much-rumored Mi 10i.
Moreover, since the hashtag in the tweet says ThePerfect10, we think that the device will come under the Mi 10 lineup. Earlier, Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G was launched in China with a 108MP sensor, and reports say that the new Mi 10i could be the rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. The 5G model of the Redmi Note 9 Pro differs from the Redmi Note 9 Pro model launched in India.
A perfect start to the new year. #ThePerfect10

After the teaser video, a popular leakster going by Mukul Sharma posted a tweet about the Mi 10i 5G pics, which looks official. The pic mentions a 108MP camera with a Snapdragon 750G and a 120Hz display. Earlier, a Xiaomi device surfaced on the Geekbench bearing model number M2007J17I. The listing shows 8GB RAM, an octa-core SoC clocked at 1.8 GHz, and will have Android 11 out of the box. We think it may be the Mi 10i.

As rumors suggest that the Mi 10i could be the rebranded version of Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, we could anticipate the specs. For starters, it may have a 6.67-inch full-HD display with a 120Hz refresh rate and may be powered by a Snapdragon 750G SoC paired with 6GB RAM. For the camera section, keeping aside the 108MP primary camera, it may have an 8MP telephoto lens followed by a 2MP macro and 2MP depth lens. The phone may sport a 4,820mAh battery with support for 33W fast charging.
Since the Chinese variant is already launched at a starting price of CNY 1,599, we can guess through the direct conversion that the Indian variant may have a starting price of around Rs. 18,000, which will be great if you want to buy a 5G device under Rs. 20,000. There are only a few weeks left for the launch, and by that time, we will let you know about any details if they surface online.
