Possible Mediatek Dimensity 2000 4nm flagship chipset to launch by end of 2021

MediaTek recently entered the flagship chipset market by launching its Dimensity 1100 and 1200 5G chipset at much aggressive pricing. They will soon be launching their new 4nm fabrication-based chipset. The latest flagship MediaTek chipset is based on a 6nm fabrication process, which somehow lags behind the 5nm cutting-edge tech used in the Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship chipset. Instead of launching the 5 nm-based chipsets, the Taiwanese chipset manufacturer has chosen to directly switch to a 4 nm-based fabrication chipset, possibly Dimensity 2000. MediaTek will be the first chipset manufacturer to launch its chipset based on 4nm fabrication technology.

MediaTek has announced its flagship 5G chipset based on TSMC’s ( Taiwan Semiconductor Company) 4nm FinFet technology. The chipset will be officially out by the end of the year 2021. The vice president of IDC (International Data Corporation), Bryan Ma, on Twitter, has said that the primary focus of this chipset will be the Chinese market. He further says that it will be available in smartphones costing around CNY 4000. The Smartphone OEMs will release their smartphone based on MediaTek’s 4nm chipset by Quarter 1 of 2022.

The primary target of the chipset will be the Chinese market, but that doesn’t mean we can’t expect the chipset globally. It will be available in the global market also, but MediaTek might launch it in the Chinese market first. The 4nm fabrication technology will enable the power-packed performance; the chipset will be able to give top-notch performance and will consume very little power compared to 7nm and 8nm chipsets.

The current flagship chipsets by Qualcomm and Apple are based on 5nm technology. They will also introduce their 4 nm-based chipsets by 2022. But MediaTek will be the first chipset manufacturer to introduce this. This might help MediaTek to attract users and some OEMs to give priority over Qualcomm.

That being said, what do you think about the upcoming alleged MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipset based on 4nm technology? Do let us know by dropping a comment down below.
