MediaTek recently came up with its flagship series of chipsets. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+, 1100, and 1200 will be a successful chipset. Yes, it’s the same MediaTek whose chipset was limited to budget smartphones. The Dimensity chipsets bring powerful performance with the support of 5G network connectivity at much more aggressive pricing. Many brands like OnePlus, Realme, and Xiaomi have already started using this chipset in their flagship killer smartphones. With the help of the Dimensity series, MediaTek has now achieved the top chipset manufacturer position globally.
MediaTek Dimensity 1200, 1100 and 1000+
Well, looking up the specifications, they’re still not as powerful as Qualcomm or Apple chipsets. But very close to them. The MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ is built on a 7nm fabrication process. It offers 4X Arm Cortex-A77 clocked at 2.6 GHz and 4X Arm Cortex A55 CPU. It provides a powerful Mali-G77 MC9 GPU.
With MediaTek Dimensity 1100 5G chipset, we have 6nm TSMC fabrication technology, 4x Cortex-A78 Power cores clocked up to 2.6GHz, 4x Cortex-A55 Efficiency cores clocked up to 2.0GHz and Mali G77 MC9 GPU.
Moving to the high-end MediaTek Dimensity 1200, which we see on the OnePlus Nord 2 smartphone. The Dimensity 1200 is also built on the same TSMC 6nm fabrication technology. For CPU, it offers 1X Cortex A78 CPU clocked at 3.0Ghz, 3X Cortex A78 CPU clocked at 2.6Ghz, and 4X Cortex A55 CPU clocked at 2.0Ghz at last. It comes with a powerful ARM Mali G77 MC9 GPU. The Dimensity 1200 comes with a support of 4xLPDDR4x at 2133MHz RAM and 2-lane UFS 3.1 storage.
