Leaked Render of the Moto Z3 Play Confirms Side-Mounted Fingerprint Sensor

The upcoming Motorola device Moto Z3 Play has been leaked several times, ranging from FCC leaks to actual renders or photos of the devices. But today, famous leaker Evan Blass, on his Twitter handle @evleaks, leaked a press render revealing all the design aspects of the device.

From the image, the smartphone carries the design element from previous models. The rumor that the device would sport a 6-inch 18:9 display without the physical home button was true. The new image shows that the fingerprint sensor will be included on the right side of the device, just below the volume keys. The left side also contains a button, likely the power button or Google Assistant key.

The rear is made of glass and contains the pins for the Moto Mods, but the 3.5 mm headphone jack is missing. We can also see the dual camera setup and the flash embedded in a circular case. The Moto Z3 Play comes with three microphones, two on the front and one on the back, which hints at an advanced voice recognition feature or an update to the Moto Actions feature.

The smartphone is rumored to have a display of 2160 x 1080 pixels and will be powered by the Snapdragon 636 chipset. The smartphone will be available in two memory configurations: 4GB RAM + 32GB internal storage and 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage. The dual camera setup is 12MP + 5 MP while offering a 5 MP on the front. It is expected to run on Android Oreo and be backed by a 3,000 mAh battery.

There is no word about the official price, but the rumors point to around $450 (Rs 30,000), which will put it against the likes of the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2S and Samsung A series (2018).
