Jio has recently announced the Jio HoloBoard device in the 42nd RIL AGM (Annual General Meeting) which is basically a Mixed Reality Headset from Jio which requires Jio Fiber broadband to be operated. Users will be able to enjoy Virtual Reality (VR) experience with this device.
Jio HoloBoard: All You Need to Know
With Jio’s MR Headset, users will be able to create a 3D hologram of the subject they want and they will be able to see it in front of their eyes. It would help users in various sectors such as Education (to properly explain things to students), MR Movie Watching and hands-free video calling over the internet.
Price in India
Reliance team has demonstrated the product called Jio HoloBoard on the RIL AGM event and announced the product. They also said that HoloBoard will be available to users at an “extremely affordable price”. So, you can imagine how much it’s price could be. I think Jio’s MR headset will cost between Rs 1500 and Rs 2000 when it will be launched in the market officially. As of now, you can just wait for the price announcement.
Buy/ Booking Online
I personally don’t think there will be Jio HoloBoard booking which will take place online. However, if the demand is higher than the supply, then definitely users will need to book it online on Jio’s official website which is Jio.com in order to get a piece for them. But there is a strong possibility that Jio’s MR Headset will be available all the time without any flash sale or similar kind of sales. Users will be able to buy the product from the official website itself. Just make sure that it’s deliverable to your pin code.
Jio HoloBoard is made by a startup called Tesseract which Reliance acquired a few years back. It will help users experience MR experience and shop through it or know various subjects by a 3D hologram created by the HoloBoard or use it for hands-free video calling with the loved ones. This can be paired with any Android or iOS device. It also comes with a remote controller which uses Bluetooth. The remote controller will also come with few programmable buttons which can be used for various functions set by the user. It will take your smartphone’s front camera in use to do such things along with a remote controller.
However, it is still not clear whether it can be used with the Jio Giga Fiber only or other users can also use it. We need to wait for some time to get full information.
