Jio Giga Fiber has been in the news since last year. But still, the company didn’t provide any information officially. But somehow NDTV Gadgets360 executives managed to spot and talk with the beta testers and employees of Reliance Jio recently to get some insider facts about Jio Giga Fiber plans, pricing details, availability and installation process. And in this article, we will talk all about that. So, without any further due, let’s get started.
What is Jio Giga Fiber?
The Jio Giga Fiber is a Fiber to the Home (FTTH) service which allows users to enjoy fast internet speed at affordable pricing. This service has been planned to disrupt the broadband market in India. Jio already has an excellent infrastructure capable of providing ultimate speed for masses. Mukesh Ambani has invested a lot to create this infrastructure, and with Jio, the telecom industry and consumption of data have changed. The Giga Fiber service will also be a part of this and will provide blazing fast internet and will give multiple strong reasons to replace it’s user’s regular broadband connection.
Jio Giga Fiber Plans and Pricing
As of now, the beta testers are getting 100GB data per month at 100Mbps speed for free as part of the preview offer. Plus testers can also opt for free 40GB top ups once the 100GB data is exhausted. But reportedly, the testing period has come to its end, and it will be launched for public commercially this year. For the beta testers, Rs 4,500 has been collected as security deposit which is completely refundable and usually gets credited to the user’s bank account within 45 days from the date of disconnection.
But for the public, they can only register their interest in Jio’s official site. And based on the demand, Jio will start bringing their FTTH service for normal users. Beside prepaid plans, Jio may also launch postpaid plans as a payment option when it is launched commercially. Possibly, new users will even get three months of Preview offer where 100GB of data will be provided per month at 100Mbps speed for free. There’s no surety if early users will also get the 40GB top up plans or not.
At this testing period, there’s no guarantee if you can get a Jio Giga Fiber installation or not. But you can try to spot the Jio executives if they are giving connections for beta testers in your area. Currently, there’s no official way to opt for Giga Fiber for the general public.
But what you can do is, go to the official website of Jio and invite it on your area by putting your personal details and the area you live in. If Jio receives enough response from your are, and if there’s a possibility to provide Giga Fiber connection in your area, then an executive from Jio will contact you through your provided details at the time of inviting, and you can get further information about the installation process from that executive. Once your installation is complete then proceed to change Giga Router default password.
Just wait for a few months more, and it will be launched at all the cities with high demand. And eventually, it will spread all over India. Once they build their Fiber infrastructure everywhere in India, everyone will be able to opt for the Jio Giga Fiber and enjoy high-speed data at affordable plans and price.
