iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 3 Released — Here’s What’s New

Apple has rolled out iOS 26.1 Developer Beta 3 today, extending the beta cycle across its ecosystem with updates for iPadOS, macOS Tahoe, watchOS, tvOS, and visionOS.

What’s in iOS 26.1 Beta 3?

  • Build & availability: The new build is 23B5064e, replacing the prior 23B5059e version.
  • Alarm UX change “Slide to Stop”: The swipe-to-dismiss interaction for alarms, introduced earlier, is retained.
  • Custom Workouts: Developers get new APIs to define custom workouts in the Fitness app (e.g., by duration, effort, estimated active calories).
  • UI tweaks and polish: Continued refinements to the Liquid Glass design, alignment fixes in Settings, improvements to the Photos app, and new swipe gestures on the mini-player in Apple Music.

Notes & Cautions for Beta Testers

  • This is a developer-only build for now. Non-developers should wait for a public beta to reduce risk.
  • As with all betas, bugs and stability issues are expected. Apple recommends installing on secondary devices and backing up critical data.
  • To install, go to Settings → General → Software Update → Beta Updates, assuming your device is registered with a developer account.
