China-based Transsion Holdings on Tuesday announced the Zero 5 and Zero 5 Pro flagship smartphones at a launch event in Dubai. Anish Kapoor, CEO of Infinix India said: “We believe the launch of Zero 5 along with the Quiet Series headsets will support our aim to enter the league of Top 5 online smartphones brands by the end of 2018”. Transsion Holdings introduced the Infinix brand in India with the Note 4 and the Hot 4 Pro smartphones for the budget segment.
Both the smartphones sports a full metallic unibody and a 5.98-inch full HD (1080 x 1920) LTPS JDI display with 2.5D curved Corning Gorilla Glass on top. Under the hood, it features a MediaTek Helio P25 MT6757 clocked at 2.6 GHz along with a Mali T880 GPU. The Zero 5 offers 6 GB of RAM with 64 GB of internal storage while the Zero 5 Pro offers 6 GB of RAM with 128 GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 256 GB via micro SD card. The Infinix Zero 5 will be available in Sandstone Black, Champagne Gold and Bordeaux Red colour variants while the Zero 5 Pro will be available in only Bronze Gold Black colour.
The optics department contains a dual-camera setup on the rear which is the USP of the device. The company claims the dual camera setup makes it the ‘real dual-camera smartphone’ in India. It contains a combination of a 12 MP wide-angle lens (Sony IMX386 sensor) along with a 13 MP telephoto lens which helps it to achieve the DSLR like bokeh effect. There are camera modes like pro mode, wide-angle, 2X optical zoom and 10X digital zoom. At the front, it offers a 16 MP sensor with f/2.0 aperture and LED flash with bokeh mode and beauty mode. The devices also contain a fingerprint sensor at the back.
The devices run on the company’s latest XOS 3.0 operating system (OS) on top of Android 7.1 Nougat and are backed by a massive non-removable 4350 mAh battery with XCharge technology. There is a USB Type C port for charging, a 3.5 mm jack and 2 dual SIM card slot along with one dedicated micro SD card slot. Connectivity options include triple SIM support, 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2 ,Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac and GPS + GLONASS. From the specs, the smartphone looks great.

The Infinix Zero 5 is priced at Rs 17,999 and the Infinix Zero 5 Pro at Rs 19,999 which competes with smartphones like Honor 9i and Mi A1, both having dual cameras at the rear. Additionally, the company has also announced a range of noise-cancelling headphones, names as Infinix Quiet 2 and Quiet X. They both have active noise cancellation technology and are priced at Rs. 2,499 and Rs. 6,999 respectively. As a launch offer, Infinix will be offering the headphones at Rs 1,499 and Rs 4,999 respectively with every purchase of the Infinix Zero 5 and the Zero 5 Pro. Both smartphones will be available exclusively via Flipkart starting from November 22 at 12 PM.
