Similar to Jio’s voucher packs, Idea has come up with a similar feature. Idea has named this feature ‘Validity Accumulation.’ This feature allows Idea customers to recharge with a long-validity plan which will be available for use as per need. The plan can be stored and then activated later with the same benefits.
Idea cellular has an open market plan of Rs 398. This plan offers 1 GB data daily, 100 SMS per day and unlimited local and national roaming calls. It comes with a validity of 70 days from the date of recharge.
Now let’s see how this new feature from Idea works. Idea Cellular is allowing their customers to recharge with the same plan for multiple times. Thus, you will get a validity of 140 days if you recharge with the plan of Rs 398 plan twice and then use the next 70 days as per requirement. Similarly, recharging the plan three times will get you a validity of 210 days. Thus, no matter the time, you can recharge with the same plan now and enjoy the benefits later.
However, no news is revealed as to how many times a user can recharge with a plan on the go. A somewhat similar offer comes from Reliance Jio named as ‘My Vouchers’. This enables a Jio customer to recharge with any plan for multiple times and store it in their accounts. To activate the stored plan, the customer needs to head over to the ‘My Jio’ app and manually select the plan after his/her current plan has expired.
One thing to keep in mind is that you get the same value for money no matter how many times you recharge with the same plan. This means that if you recharge with Idea’s Rs 398 plan two times, you will have to pay Rs 796. Similarly, even if you recharge with same three times, you will have to pay Rs 1194. Thus there are no added benefits included with this feature.
This feature may come as a future-proof plan for many as nowadays the plans keep on changing daily. Even if in future the prices for tariff plans go high, you will get to enjoy the same benefits at the same rates paid beforehand.
