Huawei P10 and P10 Plus Getting Android 8.0 Oreo Update with EMUI 8.0

Two months ago, Huawei announced that Huawei P10 and P10 Plus would get an Android Oreo update, and about a month ago, they released the EMUI 8.0 beta made on top of Android 8.0 Oreo. After the Huawei Mate 9, Mate 9 Pro, Honor 9, and Honor V9, the company has released the stable version of the update today for Huawei P10 and P10 Plus. To avail, the user should head to the phone app, enter membership service- service- and apply for an upgrade. After that, the user can avail the EMUI 8.0 B321 upgrade version.

The respective Chinese variants can get an Android Oreo update: the Huawei P10 VTR-AL00, the Huawei P10 VTR-TL00, the Huawei P10 Plus VKY-AL00, and the Huawei P10 Plus VYK-TL00. We assume that global variants such as the VTR-L09 (Single SIM) and the VTR-L29 (Dual SIM) will receive the Android Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 Update in the coming days. The new EMUI 8.0 is faster and performs better, with energy-saving features. Also, Huawei has given an intelligent touch by adding a voice assistant. The latest update also improves management and Java API 8.0, decreasing booting time and increasing app execution performance.

The Huawei P10 has a 5.1-inch IPS LCD with a 1,920 x 1,080 pixels resolution, while the P10 Plus has a 5.5-inch IPS LCD with a 2,560 × 1,440 pixels resolution. A HiSilicon Kirin 960 chipset powers both smartphones and comes with 4 GB RAM, but the P10 also has a 6 GB variant. The former comes with 32 GB and 64 GB internal storage, while the latter comes with 64 GB and 128 GB variants. Both smartphones offer a dual camera setup on the rear consisting of 20 and 12 MP while offering an 8 MP on the front. The cameras support 4k resolution videos.
