Huawei Enjoy 7S with 5.65″ Display and Dual Rear Cameras Launched

Huawei has extended its portfolio of 18:9 smartphones by launching a new device in China today. Dubbed the Huawei Enjoy 7S, it is the successor to the Enjoy 6S, which was launched last year. Last week, a couple of images of the device were leaked from the China Telecom website. The device will be available in Black, Blue, Gold, and Rose Gold color options.

The Huawei Enjoy 7S has a metal unibody design that follows the Huawei Honor smartphone’s look. At first sight, the rear of the Enjoy 7S almost looks like the Honor 8 Pro and the recently launched Honor 7X, but the 7X had a slimmer bezel and bigger display. The smartphone features a 5.65-inch FullView display with Full HD+ (2160 x 1080 pixels) resolution. The display contains virtual on-screen navigation buttons. The right side contains the power button and the volume rocker.

A 64-bit Kirin 659 Octa-core processor will power the Enjoy 7S clocked at 2.36 GHz and Mali-T830 MP2 GPU in the graphics department. It offers two memory variants: 3 GB RAM + 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage. Both variants provide expandable memory options up to 256 GB with a micro SD card.

The Enjoy 7S, like the Honor 7X, comes with a dual camera setup on the rear consisting of 13 MP and 2 MP camera sensors, while the front offers an 8 MP camera for selfies and video calling. The device will run on Android 8.0 Oreo-based EMUI 8.0 out of the box and is backed by a 3,000mAh non-removable battery with no fast charging support. The 7X goes 0-100% in about 2 hours and runs a day with moderate use. We can expect the same from the 7S.

The device comes with a hybrid SIM slot, which means you can’t use two SIM cards and a micro SD. But it comes with Huawei’s in-house Histen sound algorithm for offering Hi-Fi sound output. There is also a circular fingerprint sensor on the rear. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, FM Radio, GPS, A-GPS, 3.5 mm Audio jack, MicroUSB 2.0 port, and 4G LTE.

About the pricing, the Huawei Enjoy 7S comes with a price tag of 1499 Yuan (Rs 14,500) for the 3 GB RAM + 32 GB ROM variant and 1699 Yuan (Rs. 16,500 approx) for the 4 GB RAM+ 64 GB ROM variant. The device will compete against Honor 7X, Moto G5s Plus, Xiaomi Mi A1, OPPO A73, and the Vivo Y75, launched today at this pricing. The device is available for registration but will be available from December 22. There is no word about the global release yet.
