Taiwanese smartphone manufacturer HTC will be unveiling the HTC U12+ flagship on May 23. As the date approaches, more details about the smartphone are being revealed. Reliable leaker Roland Quandt on his twitter handle @rquandt said that the device would be available in following colour options: Black, Red Rose, Violet, and Translucent, which is a semi-transparent black introduced with its predecessor U11+.
As for the specs, the smartphone features “Frameless display’ consisting a 6-inch WQHD LCD and will be powered by the Qualcomm 845 chipset couple with 64 GB internal storage. Roland Quandt also said that a 64 GB internal storage with Dual SIM would be available in Europe. He mentions that it won’t be cheap which makes us believe it will be priced in competition with flagships like the Samsung S9 series. As per the rumours, the smartphone will have a dual camera setup on the rear of 12 MP+ 12 MP or 12 MP+ 16 MP configuration and an 8 MP or 8 MP + 8 MP camera dual setup on the front. It will run on Android 8.0 Oreo and will be backed by a 3,500 mAh battery with Quick Charge 4+ support. The frame is expected to come with IP68 rated water protection.
For the pricing, it is speculated that the smartphone will cost around $734 – $768 (Rs 47,500- Rs 50,000 approx) for the 64 GB ROM variant while the higher 128 GB ROM variant will cost somewhere between $801- $734 (Rs 47,500- Rs 52,000) in Europe. The smartphone will be released on June 1, one week after its official unveiling on May 23.
