The smartphone is a direct competitor to the Xiaomi Redmi 5
Huawei’s sub-brand Honor has sent out invites for the launch of its next smartphone, the Honor 7C in India. The teaser in Twitter doesn’t directly reveal the name, but the design and the dual cameras are clear in the image. The teaser read, “We can’t keep calm as the season to fall in love is here!! Stay tuned cause #LoveSeven is coming your way!”. The budget smartphone will be launched on May 22. Recently, the user manual of the Honor 7C and the Honor 7A were uploaded to Honor India site, which hints that the launch of the 7A is also around the corner, so we might see both the phones on May 22.
The Honor 7C launched in China in March. It features a 5.99-inch display with a resolution of FHD+ (1440 x 720 pixels) and an 18:9 aspect ratio. It is powered by a 1.8GHz Octa-Core Qualcomm Snapdragon 450 chipset along with Adreno 506 GPU. It is available in two configurations: 3 GB RAM + 32 GB internal space and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage. Both have expandable memory options with a micro SD card upto 256 GB.
In the optics department, the device sports a dual camera setup consisting of a 13 MP rear primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and 8 MP front-facing camera f/2.0 aperture with LED flash. It runs on EMUI 8.0 on top of Android 8.0 Oreo and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. Connectivity features include 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.2, GPS+ GLONASS, a 3.5mm headphone jack and dual SIM(nano + nano + microSD). It measures 158.3 x 76.7 x 7.8 mm and weighs 164 g.
The smartphone is available in Black, Red, Gold and Blue colour options and comes at a starting price tag of 899 Yuan (Rs 9,000 approx) which compete against the likes of Xiaomi Redmi S2, Redmi 5.
