Huawei sub-brand Honor is all set to launch a new smartphone named Honor 9 Youth Edition. The images of the smartphone with views from all angles, along with the specs, have appeared on China Telecom’s website. The smartphone follows the trend of bezel-less design and has an edge-to-edge display. The power button and the volume rocker are placed on the right side. The device measures 151 × 71.9 × 7.6 mm and weighs 149 g. The device contains a circular rear fingerprint sensor on the rear.
The Honor 9 Youth Edition sports a 5.65-inch FHD + (1080 x 2160) liquid crystal display. The display is quite tall, with an 18:9 aspect ratio. The device is powered by a 64-bit Octa-core HiSilicon Kirin 659 chipset. There will be two memory variants: 4 GB RAM + 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB storage. Both storages will have expandable internal storage.
The smartphone comes with dual cameras on both rear and front, totaling up to 4 cameras on the device. The rear contains a combination of 13 MP and 2 MP CMOS sensors, while the front offers a combination of 13 MP and 2 MP CMOS sensors. The device is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery. The device will adopt the latest Android 8.0 Oreo with the company’s own EMUI 8.0 running on top. This means the smartphone will be a part of Project Treble and receive regular updates from Google. The device also contains a micro USB, a 3.5 mm jack, and a speaker on the bottom.
The device comes with dual SIM and 4G LTE support. As for the pricing, the lower 32 GB variant is priced at 1999 Yuan, while the higher variant comes with a price tag of 2399 Yuan. The device is speculated to come in Black, Blue, and Gray color options and will be launched on December 21.
