HMD Global Launches Nokia 6 2018 with 16 MP Rear Camera

Nokia 6 (2018) received 3C certification earlier this month. The device also appeared in TENAA with model number TA-1054. Today, HMD Global has made the smartphone official by posting a video on their official Weibo account and a dedicated smartphone page on the official website. Yesterday, the device was listed at the online retailer Suing.

The Nokia 6 (2018) features a metal body and slimmer bezels on the left and right with red accents but thicker bezels at the top and bottom. The device goes for a 16:9 aspect ratio instead of the traditional 18:9 and has a. It sports a 5.5-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) LCD and is powered by an Octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 processor. The device offers two memory variants: 4 GB RAM + 32 GB internal storage and 4 GB RAM + 64 GB internal storage with expandable options up to 128 GB via micro SD card.

In the optics department, the device offers a 16 MP CMOS sensor and an 8 MP with f/2.0 aperture camera for selfies and video calling. The cameras come with the Nokia Dual sight, aka Bothie feature. The device runs on Android 7.1 Nougat, which can be upgraded to Android 8.0 Oreo, and is backed by a 3,000 mAh battery and quick charge support. The device sports a rear fingerprint sensor, a 3.5 mm headphone jack, OZO audio technology, and a USB Type-C. The device measures 148.8 x 75.8 x 8.15 mm and weighs 175 g.

The Nokia 6 2018 is available in White, Black, and Blue color options. As for the pricing, the 32 GB variant is priced at 1499 Yuan(Rs 14,500 approx) while the 64 GB variant is priced at 1699 Yuan(Rs 16,500 approx), competing against the likes of Honor 7X, Redmi 5 Plus, and Xiaomi Mi A1.

The device will officially go on sale on January 10 at 10.06 a.m. while the booking has started on Suning and JD.com. The 32 GB variant is available in the Suning online store, while the 64 GB variant is available in both Suning and JD.com. The device is expected to hit the Indian markets soon and will be priced similarly to the Nokia 6 2017 edition.
