Google Health 5.07 Adds Better Workout Logging and Fixes Missing Maps

Google is rolling out Google Health 5.07 on Android and iOS with a set of changes aimed at making workout tracking more consistent. The update expands manual logging, improves map performance, and addresses several issues affecting activity and Health Connect data.

The biggest changes are aimed at people who regularly edit workouts by hand. Google says manually entered metrics should now appear in workout summaries faster, while more information can be added when logging an exercise.

Google Health 5.07 expands manual workout tracking

The latest version lets users add and adjust more metrics when manually recording an exercise. That should make the app more useful when a workout was not fully captured automatically or when recorded information needs correcting.

Google has also expanded manual logging when switching between pool and open-water swimming. More metrics can now be entered during that transition, giving swimmers greater control over how their sessions are recorded.

The changes address a relatively simple problem with fitness apps: automated tracking is convenient, but it is not always accurate. Faster updates to workout summaries should make manual corrections feel less disconnected from the activity record.

Maps and running totals get practical fixes

Google Health 5.07 also brings a sizable update to its maps experience. Google says maps should load faster and render and adjust more smoothly, while a bug that could cause maps to disappear during phone-based running, cycling, or walking sessions has been fixed.

That particular fix matters more than the performance improvements might suggest. For users relying on a phone to record an outdoor workout, a missing route map can leave an otherwise complete activity without one of its most useful pieces of data.

Trail runs and incline runs will also now count toward Running Distance totals. This changes how the app aggregates running activity rather than simply fixing a display issue, giving users a broader view of their accumulated distance.

Weight graphs and Health Connect also change

The update recalibrates the dynamic minimum and maximum values used by the weight graph. Google says the adjustment should make weight trends and changes easier to see at a glance, particularly as the graph adapts to the user’s measurements.

Google is also fixing a Health Connect connection problem that caused some Android users to lose the integration. Affected users should now see Health Connect listed under Partner Apps in the Connections screen.

Google Health 5.07 is rolling out on both platforms, although the rollout is at different stages: The Android release is still rolling out while the iOS version is widely available.

For users who track workouts manually or depend on Health Connect to keep fitness data synchronized, this update could be more noticeable than its version number suggests. The next question is whether Google continues building on these reliability improvements with deeper cross-device tracking in future releases.
