The Galaxy Flip series currently starts at $999. Earlier, there were leaks that Samsung could launch a Z Flip FE model in 2024, called the Z Flip 6 FE.
However, those leaks never materialized into a product. There were rumors of a cheaper foldable, too- The Z Fold 6 FE.
What did come true were the leaks of an “Ultra” foldable product. We currently have the Z Fold 6 Special Edition selling in some countries. It has a better camera system and a much more premium, luxurious design.
Since Samsung is planning to expand its foldable lineup, we could get a cheaper Flip phone next year. We’re expecting the Flip 7 to get major improvements to camera hardware and the hinge as well.
The rumored Z Flip FE will probably be a trimmed-down Z Flip 6 or Flip 5. As per tipster Jukanlosreve on X, the Z Flip FE will have the Exynos 2400 processor, which also powers the Galaxy S24 series.
Another option Samsung has is to make it even cheaper and use a variant of the Exynos 2400- probably the same Exynos 2400e on the Galaxy S24 FE. This has the potential to be a great product if they actually control the thermals well.
As per the latest leaks, the entire S25 lineup will ship with the Snapdragon 8 Elite out of the box globally. There were some scores of the Exynos 2500 testing devices on the S25, but the report suggests this chip will not be used. Instead, they’re putting the Exynos 2500 off for other phones like the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 7.
