Samsung will reportedly announce its next flagship smartphone on January 22, which will include three main models: the standard Galaxy S25, the slightly larger Galaxy S25+, and the premium Galaxy S25 Ultra. Another new model purportedly called the Galaxy S25 Slim will also be unveiled at the January Galaxy Unpacked event.
While the company will announce the flagship lineup on January 22, the actual release won’t happen until two weeks later. Samsung’s Galaxy S25 series will be released on February 7, according to a report from FNNews. Unfortunately, the slim model might be released a bit later; there is no info right now regarding its release timeline.
This staggered release schedule isn’t new for Samsung. This year, the Galaxy S24 was announced in mid-January but didn’t officially launch until the end of the month.
Before the Galaxy S25 series becomes available, Samsung will open pre-orders for all where it will offer trade-in deals, bonus credits, etc. These perks have been a common strategy for the company in recent years, where it gives early buyers extra value.
The report further claims that the pre-orders will likely start on January 24, 2025, and end on February 3, 2025. And from February 4, 2025, it will likely be available for those who made reservations during the pre-order period. It could be officially released for all on February 7. These dates are in Korean Standard Time, so depending on where you are in the world, it might actually be February 6 due to the time difference.
The Galaxy S25 lineup will bring several upgrades, especially for the Ultra model. The Ultra will likely include 16GB of RAM coupled with 512GB of storage. All models will reportedly pack the new Snapdragon 8 Elite processor, regardless of region. These models will also come with Samsung’s latest UI, One UI 7, based on Android 15.
One big question is how much the Galaxy S25 series will cost. Reports suggest that Samsung’s production costs have increased, so the price may go up for the flagship lineup. If this is true, it will be interesting to see how customers react to higher prices. Only time will tell.
