Galaxy S21 OneUI 5 Android 13

When will Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra get One UI 5 (Android 13)?

Last year, Samsung released its 2021 flagship smartphone series— the Galaxy S21 series, which included the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and the S21 Ultra. Fans and users loved this series. Samsung launched these devices with Android 11 out of the box based on One UI 3.1 skin. These devices later received the Android 12 update based on One UI 4.1 software. The software experience on these smartphones is on par with that of the Galaxy S22 series.

Google began testing the new Android version, i.e. Android 13, in February 2022. The Android 13 stable build is currently rolling out to select Pixel smartphones. Samsung has also been preparing for its smartphones’ Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update.

Now that the Android 13-based One UI 5 is just over the horizon, Galaxy S21 series users might wonder when their smartphone will get the Android 13 update. Read more to find out.

One UI 5 Beta Program

The Galaxy S22 series smartphones are the first devices to receive the Android 13 beta. This will follow the upcoming Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, and last year’s Galaxy S21 series. Galaxy S21 series owners in the UK and South Korea are getting the beta build. The beta program will soon be available for other regions as well.

One UI 5 Stable Build

Once the beta is done, Samsung may release the stable version of Android 13 based on One UI 5 in October 2022. The timeline seems to be set, and we will keep you updated on any further developments related to Android 13 and Galaxy S21. Once the update is made available, users can easily download and install the update on their respective devices. Again, the Galaxy S22 series will receive the stable update first, followed by the upcoming Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4, and last year’s Galaxy S21 series.

If we look at last year, the One UI 4 Android 12 beta update was released around the same time frame. The stable build was released in November 2021. Initially, the update was rolled out for the Galaxy S21 series, followed by other Galaxy devices. Regardless, this year, it seems like Samsung is attempting to release the update a month earlier than last year, i.e., by October.

Bottom Line

In the end, we can only speculate as to when stable One UI 5 will arrive for the Galaxy S21 series. All we know is that it’ll likely be sooner than later. So, if you have one of these models, watch for any incoming updates. They’re bound to be worth the wait!
