Last year, Samsung released its 2021 flagship smartphone series— the Galaxy S21 series, which included the Galaxy S21, S21 Plus and the S21 Ultra. Fans and users loved this series. Samsung launched these devices with Android 11 out of the box, which was based on One UI 3.1 skin. These devices later received the Android 12 update based on One UI 4.1 software. The software experience on these smartphones is on par with that of the Galaxy S22 series.
Google began testing the new Android version, i.e. Android 13, back in February 2022. Currently, Android 13 is still in beta testing (Beta 4.1). However, we can expect the stable build to launch very soon. Samsung has also been preparing for the Android 13-based One UI 5.0 update for its smartphones.
Now that the Android 13-based One UI 5 is just over the horizon, Galaxy S21 series users might wonder when their smartphone will get the Android 13 update. Read more to find out.

The Galaxy S22 series smartphones are the first devices to receive the Android 13 beta. This will be followed by the upcoming Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4 and last year’s Galaxy S21 series.
One UI 5 Beta Program
Samsung has started beta testing for consumers in the United States, Germany and South Korea. The beta program will soon be available for other regions as well. As of now, Galaxy S22 series owners are getting the beta build. We can expect the beta update for Galaxy S21 series to be released by next week or earlier.
One UI 5 Stable Build
Once the beta is done, Samsung may release the stable version of Android 13 based on One UI 5 in October 2022. The timeline seems to be set, and we will keep you updated on any further developments related to Android 13 and Galaxy S21. Once the update is made available, users can easily download and install the update on their respective devices. Again, the Galaxy S22 series will receive the stable update first, followed by the upcoming Z Flip 4, Z Fold 4 and last year’s Galaxy S21 series.
If we look at last year, the One UI 4 Android 12 beta update was released around the same time frame. The stable build was released in November 2021. Initially, the update was rolled out for the Galaxy S21 series, followed by other Galaxy devices. Regardless, this year, it seems like Samsung is attempting to release the update a month earlier than last year, i.e. by October.
In the end, we can only speculate as to when One UI will arrive for the Galaxy S21 series. All we know is that it’ll likely be sooner than later. So if you have one of these models, be sure to keep an eye out for any incoming updates. They’re bound to be worth the wait!
