Will Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra Receive One UI 6 (Android 14)?

Google released the first Developer Preview of Android 14 in February of this year and detailed the roadmap for its development up until the release of the final stable build. On March 8, 2023, the second Developer Preview was also made available. The public beta versions of Android 14 are expected around April, and the stable final release around August of this year.

One UI 6 (Android 14) for Samsung Devices

Android 14 for Samsung Galaxy devices will come with One UI 6. Speaking of features, we can expect it to bring all new features included in the stock version of Android 14 released by Google, as well as any additional features Samsung may choose to add.

Regarding timely software updates, Samsung presently holds the top spot for Android devices. Since their new software update policy, they have made enormous progress in this area. According to Sammy Fans, beta testing for One UI 6 could begin later this year, around the end of July or the beginning of August. After the launch of Android 13 last year, the Android 13-based One UI 5 update was made available for nearly all compatible devices quickly. Will Galaxy Note 20 5G get One UI 6 (Android 14)?

In August 2020, Samsung introduced the Samsung Galaxy Note 20. It was launched with the most recent version of Android at the time, Android 10. Its third significant Android update was the One UI 5 update, based on Android 13. However, that was also the last significant update it would receive because it does not qualify for four major Android upgrades by Samsung’s new update policy. It will, however, continue to get security patch upgrades for a further 12 months.

Alongside the Galaxy Note 20, Samsung also launched the Samsung Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. It came with Android 10 out of the box, too. Similar to the Note 20, the Android 13-based One UI 5 update was the last major upgrade for the Note 20 Ultra for the same reason. It will get a year of security patch updates, just like the Note 20.

The Galaxy Note 20 Ultra 5G boasts a 6.9-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display with 1440 x 3088 pixels resolution. On the other hand, Galaxy Note 20 5G has a slightly smaller 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1080 x 2400 pixels.

Both phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865+ processor in the US market and the Exynos 990 processor in the global market.

In terms of camera, the Note 20 Ultra 5G features a triple rear camera system with a 108MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 12MP periscope telephoto lens. The Note 20 features a triple rear camera setup with a 12MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide sensor, and a 64MP telephoto sensor. Both phones include a 10MP front-facing camera.
