Samsung Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra Android 13 (One UI 5) Status
The Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra will get the Android 13 update. The stable version of Android 13 is already out for Pixel devices. Samsung has also started testing its One UI 5 beta program on some Galaxy devices. The update brings several new features and improvements to the devices, including a new UI, new camera features, and improved performance.
The Galaxy Note 20 and the Note 20 Ultra were running on Android 10 based on the One UI 2 update at the launch time. Since then, the last Note series has received two major Android updates— Android 11 and Android 12. Back in 2020, Samsung made an announcement wherein it said that all its flagship phones launched in or after 2019 would receive three years of major Android updates and four years of security updates. Samsung has already begun testing the Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra in the Android 13 beta program. To be precise, the beta testing started on 12th October 2022.
Samsung Community USA posted that the One UI 5 beta is out for Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra users. However, the beta is only open to unlocked Galaxy Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra devices in the United States. The stable update will take time. We will perhaps see a stable update in Q1 2023.
How to Join?
Using Samsung’s Member app, you can sign up for the Samsung Android 13 beta for Galaxy Note 20 and Galaxy Note 20 Ultra. Here’s how:
- Download and install the Samsung’s Member app from the Google Play Store or Galaxy Store.
- Once installed, launch the app.
- Tap on the One UI 5 Beta Program banner. If you can’t see the banner on the app’s homepage, scroll through the other banners, and you will find it.
- On the next page, click on “Join now.”
- Tap Enroll after reading the terms and conditions. Then, tap Agree.
You will see a message saying you’ve enrolled in the One UI 5 beta program.
Once you have successfully enrolled for the Android 13 beta on your Galaxy Note 20, Samsung will send you an OTA update notification after a few minutes.
- Now, go to your phone Settings and tap Software Update.
- Tap Download and install.
- Tap Install now.
- Your phone will restart and install One UI 5 Android 13 beta.
