Samsung’s upcoming 2025 foldable phone lineup is still unclear. It is rumored that we could see the Galaxy Z Fold 7, Z Flip 7, a budget Galaxy Z Flip FE, and a tri-fold phone.
The South Korean giant has already teased its upcoming tri-fold phone at its January Galaxy Unpacked event. That said, its launch timeframe is still under wraps, though rumors suggest it could arrive in the second half of 2025.
A new leak has now surfaced online, revealing its marketing name and key details. According to yeux1122’s blog, the upcoming Samsung tri-fold phone will be called Galaxy G Fold.
The naming scheme suggests that the phone might feature a G-shaped design, which means the inside of the screen will fold twice. In comparison, Huawei’s tri-fold phone, the Mate XT, adopts an S or Z-shaped design, which folds both inward and outward.
Apart from revealing the name, the report says the purported Galaxy G Fold will likely feature a 9.96-inch display with a height of 6.54 inches. Speaking of its weight, the report says that it is rumored to weigh the same as H (possibly referring to the Huawei Mate XT), which is 298 g.
It seems Samsung is finally ready to take on Huawei’s tri-fold Mate XT. A report from Korea reveals the company will make around 200,000 units, and its production will start in the second quarter of 2025.
