For context, the Galaxy A52 was launched in March 2021, followed by the Galaxy A53 5G in March 2022. The past releases show that Samsung usually launches its Galaxy A series phones in March. Therefore, we can expect the next-generation Galaxy A54 to launch around the same time frame.
Samsung Galaxy A54 Features
Samsung is already working on its next generation of mid-range smartphones, including the successor to its most popular mid-range phone— the Galaxy A53. The Galaxy A54 will bear the model number SM-A546B. This means that the smartphone is in the works and will be released soon. Let’s take a look at its specifications.
Samsung is yet to announce the Galaxy A54 5G officially. And as you might have guessed, the specifications of the Galaxy A54 are also unknown. However, based on past and current trends, we can speculate on its specifications.
1. Performance
Starting with the performance, the Galaxy A54 could be powered by the Exynos 1380 5G chipset, which will succeed the Exynos 1280 5G chipset on the Galaxy A53. Reportedly, the Exynos 1380 5G chipset (part number S5E8835) is already in development. However, these are just speculations, and Samsung might also use a Snapdragon 7-series processor on the Galaxy A54.
2. Display
As for the display, we could see an FHD+ 120Hz display on the Galaxy A54. A conceptual render by Technizo Concepts X LetsGoDigital hints toward a display with symmetrical bezels around the display, resembling the flagship Galaxy S series. Moreover, the camera bump is also a bit more protruding.
3. Cameras
Talking about the cameras, the Galaxy A54 could have a better and improved primary camera sensor and ultra-wide and other cameras. As per GalaxyClub, the upcoming Galaxy A54 will sport a 50MP primary unit. There are no details about the camera as of now. In terms of megapixel count, we will see a camera downgrade on A54 as both Galaxy A52 and A53 pack 64MP units. Since the megapixel count isn’t everything, we may see a bigger and more capable sensor on the A54 with OIS. As for the front camera, we can expect a 32MP selfie shooter.
4. Battery & Charging
The Galaxy A54 will have a large battery size of 5100mAh. As per GalaxyClub, the Galaxy A54 will carry the model number EB-BA546ABY with a rated battery capacity of 4905 mAh. So, the typical capacity could be 5100 mAh. To recall, last year’s A53 had a rated battery capacity of 4860 mAh and a typical capacity of 5000 mAh.
The charging speed will likely remain disappointing. While other OEMs are shifting to 65W or even 150W on their mid-tier phones, Samsung may stick to 25W with the Galaxy A54.
Samsung Galaxy A54 5G has appeared in China’s 3C certification database, confirming its charging details. It also hints the device may launch soon in the Chinese market. As per the 3C listing, it may carry support for 25W fast charging.
5. Software
A notable thing about the Galaxy A54 is the software. It will run on the latest One UI 5 software based on Android 13 out of the box. Plus, Samsung will also provide four years of major software updates and five years of security updates with the Galaxy A54, just like the Galaxy A53 and other Galaxy smartphones.
Do note that these are not official specifications of the Galaxy A54. Hence, these may contradict the specifications when the smartphone is officially released. However, this is the closest to the actual specifications of the smartphone.
