Exynos 1380: Google Tensor 2 Chipset Reportedly Under Development

The latest reports suggest the South Korean company is working on Google’s next-generation Tensor and its own Exynos 1380 Soc. As per a report by GalxyClub, Samsung is testing a next-gen Tensor chipset. The chipset with model number S5P9865 is the third-generation Google Tensor chipset. This chipset will power the Pixel 8 series. According to reports, the code name of the development board of the chipset is ‘Ripcurrent,’ and the chip itself is codenamed ‘Zuma.’

Last year, Samsung manufactured Google’s first Tensor chip on its 5nm node process. The chipset was used in the Pixel 6 series and offered decent performance. This first-gen Tensor SoC also had a similar model number (S5P9845), so it is safe to assume that the mentioned chipset is a Samsun-manufactured Tensor SoC.

Many reports and rumors say that the Exynos 1380 SoC is expected to be the successor to the Exynos 1280 processor. The 1280 SoC was launched in April this year. As per the previous record, the 1280 SoC was found on the Galaxy A53, so we can expect its successor, the 1380 SoC, to power the Samsung Galaxy A54. Reports have suggested that Google Tensor 2 would be developed on a developer board called “Cloudripper.”

It is too early to give correct information about the new Exynos 1380 processor. Currently, Samsung has yet to confirm any details about developing new SoCs. We have provided all the information based on several rumors and reports. So, we suggest you take it with a pinch of salt. For more accurate details, we will have to wait a little bit. We will keep updating you about this topic.
