Dimensity 2000 vs Snapdragon 898

Dimensity 2000 vs Snapdragon 898: Early Comparison Based on Leaks

It hasn’t been long since MediaTek began to join the market for premium chipsets. In the higher mid-range segment, their MediaTek Dimensity 1200, Dimensity 1100, and Dimensity 1000 had done exceptionally well. However, their chipsets aren’t up to level with Qualcomm’s premium Snapdragon chipsets. However, the next MediaTek flagship chipset may silence many saying this.

The MediaTek Dimensity 2000 5G chipset is predicted to perform comparably to Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 5G processor, which has yet to be announced. It is predicted to perform admirably in gaming and heavy multitasking because of the ARM Cortex flagship main CPU.

MediaTek Dimensity 2000 vs Qualcomm Snapdragon 898

The MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipset’s official release date and specifications are unknown. However, rumors and leaks have circulated about the chipset’s specifications on the internet.

Process

According to a new claim, the MediaTek Dimensity 2000 chipset would be 25% more energy-efficient than Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 898 chipset. Remember that it’s 25%; for an OEM like MediaTek, it is a considerable leap. It will use TSMC’s 4nm technology rather than Samsung’s, which could be the main cause for the lower energy consumption. The 898 Chipset, on the other hand, will be manufactured at Samsung’s 4nm process (named 4LPE).

CPU

The Dimensity 2000 is expected to flaunt a Cortex X2 primary CPU followed by three Cortex A710 and four Cortex A510 CPUs. On the other hand, the Snapdragon 898 will also feature a three-cluster architecture design i.e. 1x Cortex-X2 at 3.0GHz + 3x Cortex-A710 at 2.5GHz + 4x Cortex-A510 at 1.8GHz.

GPU

ARM Mali G79 will handle the gaming part on Dimensity 2000. There is no hint on the performance of this GPU. So we must wait for the official release to check its Gaming performance. On the other hand, Snapdragon 898 will use an in-house Adreno 730 GPU instead of Arm’s GPU. It is expected that Dimensity 2000 will outperform Exynos 2200 in CPU Performance while the gaming performance remains untested.

That being said, what do you think about the upcoming MediaTek Dimensity 2000 5G chipset? Do you think it will be able to compete with the Qualcomm Snapdragon 898 5G chipset and Samsung Exynos 2200 chipset? Let us know by dropping a comment in your words below.
