Check 5G Availability Jio Airtel Vi

How to Check 5G Availability of Jio, Airtel, and Vi in India?

Is the 5G network available in your area?

5G has been launched in India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi officially launched the 5G services in India on 1st October. This launch was organized at the 6th India Mobile Congress (IMC) Pragati Maidan, Delhi. All major telecom operators of India— Jio, Airtel, and Vi participated in the launch.

5G is a major development for the country, as 5G will enable a wide range of new and innovative applications. 5G will also help to boost the economy and create new jobs.

Some of the benefits of 5G include:

  • Higher speeds: 5G will offer up to 1 Gigabit per second, much faster than 4G.
  • Lower latency: 5G will have a latency of 1 millisecond, much lower than 4G. This will enable new applications such as virtual reality and augmented reality.
  • More connections: 5G will allow more connections than 4G, meaning you can connect more devices to the internet simultaneously.

5G is a big deal for India. It will bring 10 to 20 times faster internet speed than 4G. To summarise, you can enjoy high-speed internet with minimum latency. 5G will open doors to thousands of new opportunities for Indian citizens.

As 5G technology is being deployed in India, telecom operators will gradually expand their 5G coverage. Jio, Airtel, and Vi will roll out 5G services in select cities. Read on if you’re wondering how to check 5G availability for these three operators!

5G Availability

How to Check Airtel 5G Availability?

Airtel 5G services are rolling out in eight cities. These cities also include the ones where Airtel did its 5G testing. Airtel also said we could expect 5G services in crucial metro cities by December 2022. A wider 5G rollout should be expected by 2024. You don’t need a new 5G SIM card to access Airtel 5G.

However, we do not know which areas are included in the eight cities about which Airtel spoke. These cities could consist of Delhi, Varanasi, Nagpur, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Hyderabad, and Siliguri. Even if 5G is available in your city, it will not be widely available. That’s why you might want to check if 5G is available in your area or not.

Airtel will allow its users to check the 5G availability in their area using the Airtel Thanks app. The feature will be available as soon as 5G is rolled out. So using Airtel Thanks App, you can see whether your smartphone and city are 5G ready.

How to Check Jio 5G Availability?

Jio is rolling out its 5G services from October 5, 2022. Initially, Jio will roll out its 5G services to only four cities: Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai, and Chennai. Jio will also operate on SA 5G (Standalone), unlike Airtel, which will work on NSA 5G (Non-standalone).

As expected, Jio 5G will not be across all parts of the cities. It will only be available in select parts of the city. That’s why it is essential to know whether or not 5G is available in your city. Unfortunately, Jio has not released any information regarding this. However, we can expect that we will be able to check 5G availability in our area using the MyJio app when 5G is rolled out.

A Jio executive told ET Telecom that a 5G device would automatically show 5G network availability once the 5G network is available in your area.

How to Check Vi 5G Availability?

Vi has not shared much information on its 5G rollout plans. We can expect Vi to roll out 5G after Jio and Airtel. Since Vi has been suffering from loss and only acquired a limited number of 5G bands during the auction, Vi 5G will likely be delayed.

Vi will also initially bring its 5G services to a limited number of cities. We can expect the initial rollout to begin by 2023, followed by a wider rollout by 2024. When rolled out, we can expect to be able to check 5G availability in our area using the Vi app.

Summary

To check the 5G availability of Jio, Airtel, and Vi, you will probably need to download the respective telecom operator’s MyJio, Airtel Thanks, and Vi App. Once you have downloaded and installed the app, open it and sign in with your account. After signing in, you should be able to see if 5G is available in your area.
