CarPlay Phone Calls Issue Causing Trouble to iPhone 14 Pro Users

Apple announced its new iPhone 14 series, consisting of the regular iPhone 14, the iPhone 14 Plus (A replacement for the iPhone Mini version), the iPhone 14 Pro, and the iPhone 14 Pro Max, on September 7. However, the regular and the Plus variants come with the same last year’s A15 Bionic Chipset with an enhanced five-core GPU, and the Pro variants come with the new A16 Bionic Chipset.

On September 12, the tech giant unveiled its new Operating System for its iPhone, namely iOS 16, which was initially showcased at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference). It comes with a reimagined and redesigned lock screen having more personalization options, new functionalities to the iMessage application, improved haptics, lock screen widgets, Home app features, and more.

The more features the perennial iOS version has, the equal amount of bugs and issues come simultaneously. The iOS 16 has led users to face some severe bugs like iPhone 14 series activation issues, the most recent iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max camera making rattling noise and vibration issues, flickering screen issues, green lines appearance, massive battery drainage problems, connectivity issues, display granting and glitching issues, models freezing, excessive copy and paste permission prompts and more.

The most recent issue is the CarPlay issue with the iPhone models running on iOS 16.0.1. The problem is that whenever a person makes a call using CarPlay, the other person on the opposite end can not hear the volume or says I sound far away. The issue seems to be more severe only with the devices running on iOS 16.0.1. A user responds to the problem by saying the issue is with my iPhone 14 Pro Max and not on my iPhone 13 Pro Max.

Another user says my iPhone 12 Pro does not have this issue. Also, it has been noticed that the CarPlay issue is with the iPhone 14 Pro and the iPhone 14 Pro Max and slightly with the iPhone 14. Plus, the variant seems to be not affected so far. The cause of the issue has not yet been understood as to why or how this is happening. Apple remains unresponsive.

The users have tried the general troubleshooting methods by restarting their devices. Also, they are trying to use the VPN (Virtual Private Network), which is resolving the issue of the CarPlay for some. But some are passing through terrible experiences with VPNs, too. Some had also tried downgrading their devices to iOS 16.0, which doesn’t seem to be helping.

After the Camera shaking and vibration issues, Apple is working on a new software update, probably iOS 16.0.2, which will fix the excessive copy-and-paste permission prompts, iPhone models freezing after data transfer from another iPhone, and the mechanical vibration issue with the Camera.

Apple support has replied to a user suggesting the basic troubleshooting means to restart the device, which seems useless. However, Apple has not given clear words on the CarPlay issue and is quiet now.

Let’s see if the fix arrives for the CarPlay issue with the coming software update, i.e., iOS 16.0.2. I hope that the problem gets resolved with the same.
