Oppo A16 with 5000mAh battery, 10W charger and ColorOS 11.1 coming soon

Oppo is planning to launch a new budget smartphone under its A series, which will be dubbed as Oppo A16. It is the successor to the Oppo A15, which was unveiled in October 2020. Recently, a new Oppo smartphone with model number CPH2269 has been listed on the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) certification website. We cross-checked the model CPH2269 with multiple certification databases and gathered more information.

FCC listing did not reveal the moniker, but thanks to Singapore’s certification database, now we know the model CPH2269 will be called Oppo A16. The FCC listing revealed that the Oppo A16 will be backed by a 4,980mAh (rated) battery and run ColorOS 11.1 custom UI. The connectivity option includes Bluetooth, dual-band Wi-Fi, and 4G LTE.

We can also see the battery model for Oppo A16 as BLP805. We can cross-reference these numbers with the TUV Rheinland and China Quality certification database and found that Oppo A16 will have a larger 5000 mAh (typical) battery with support for 10W (5.0V/2.0A) fast charging.

A design sketch of the A16 has also appeared on FCC that suggests it will come with a rectangular camera module at the back. Sadly, the sketching didn’t reveal the camera unit’s details.

The company has not announced anything regarding its launch timeline. However, India’s BIS listing suggests the Oppo A16 will arrive in the Indian market soon. Its predecessor, Oppo A15, is currently available on Flipkart at Rs 9,800. So, we can expect the upcoming Oppo A16 will also be priced below 10,000 INR.
