LG Android 11 Update: Everything We Know So Far

Google has released the developer preview of Android 11 for its Pixel devices. It is coming sooner than ever before. Now we know for certain which Pixel devices will be receiving the update, but what about the other manufacturers who customized Android with their skin version? If you are an LG smartphone user and you are wondering if your device is eligible, then we have the list for you. So far, there is no official news from LG about the devices receiving the update. Still, we have analyzed LG’s update pattern from the previous years, and we have compiled all those devices that may or may not be receiving this upcoming update.

  • LG Android 11 Release Date: LG released the Android 11 update on February 26, 2021.

Will your LG phone get an Android 11 update?

LG will bring the Android 11 update to all eligible LG devices, which will probably be based on LG UX 10.0. The upcoming custom skin UX 10.0 will bring a significant improvement over UX 9.0.

LG’s way of pushing out updates for their devices is a bit different than others. They don’t follow other’s way of pushing out two major updates. Instead, they push out updates to their most recent flagship devices. For instance, if you own a mid-range LG device with Android 10, 9, or older out of the box, then the chances are that you won’t be receiving another update. Many have also criticized LG’s smartphone business due to this lack of support from the software front.

Even if you do own a flagship LG device, that is one from the G series or the V series, but it is an older model, even then, you won’t be receiving the update. For instance, if you own a flagship LG device that came with Android 8 or older out of the box and has already received an update to Android 10 or is about to, then this is the end of the line for that device.
