Asus Zenfone 7 Spare Parts and NCC Listings Confirm SD865, SD865+, 5000mAh Battery and 5G Support

The Asus Zenfone 7 series will go official on August 26 in Taiwan. It is expected that the series will include two devices – Zenfone 7 and  Zenfone 7 Pro. Earlier, we reported that Zenfone 7 will feature Snapdragon 865 while its Pro variant, Zenfone 7 Pro, will pack Snapdragon 865+. Now we have more evidence that we will see both Snapdragon 865 and 865+ versions.

Today, we spotted the Asus Zenfone 7’s spare parts on a retailer’s website where the motherboard and battery are listed. The motherboard listing with model ZS670KS confirms that the Asus Zenfone 7 will have both the Snapdragon 865 and 865+ versions (probably for the Pro variant). Apart from confirming SoC, the listing shows 6GB+128GB memory configuration with Snapdragon 865 and 8GB+256GB with Snapdragon 865+. It should be noted that the price tags shown on the images are for spare parts only.

Asus Zenfone 7’s battery is also listed with model C11P1904. We cross-checked the model with the Danish UL (Demko) certification database and found out the Asus Zenfone 7’s typical battery capacity is 5000mAh.

Earlier, the Asus Zenfone 7 was spotted on the National Communications Commission (NCC) of Taiwan, which reveals some of its key details. Now, NCC has attached a new document mentioning NR/LTE/WCDMA/GSM standards. It can be seen that the NR standard is also specified for the 5G (fifth generation) mobile network. So, the Asus Zenfone 7 series will come with 5G support. Asus will use a separate 5G modem with Snapdragon 865/865+ to enable 5G. However, it will be interesting to see whether Indian Zenfone 7 lineup units will come with support for 5G or not. There is also a possibility that the company may use a 4G modem like iQOO 3 4G with Snapdragon 865/865+ for the Indian market.
