For the iPhone 17, we could get two new standout color options, alongside the usual White and Black. As per new leaks, the iPhone 17 colors will include a slightly lighter shade of Purple and Green. For last year with the iPhone 16, the major colors were Pink, Teal Green, and Ultramarine Blue, alongside the usual White and Black.
This year, the colors will mostly look a lot lighter. The saturation of the colors was much higher last year. However, the colors look a lot more muted this time, as per the leaks. As per sources from Phone Arena, there are some photos of the new iPhone, and they show the new colors.
These are not real units, but high-quality dummy units that showcase the design of the phone and the color as well. As evident from the images, the overall design language of the phone is not too different. It features a vertical dual-camera layout at the top left, and the overall placement of the logo and flash looks similar to last year. The Pro model might have a different positioning this year, and the logo might move a bit to the bottom. The position of the flash is also different for the Pro models.
The dummy units of the iPhone 17 models were made from leaked information and put together from previous component leaks. The source is an alleged industry insider. While there’s a chance these leaks will come true, don’t assume they’re completely accurate. This is not information from the company, and there are no leaks of real-life images of this iPhone yet.
The base iPhone 17 aside, the iPhone 17 Plus will get a similar overall design. The iPhone 17 Air is coming up this year, with a slightly different design. Most leaks point to Apple moving away from 60Hz LTPS panels and to 120Hz LTPO panels.
All iPhones will supposedly get the latest chip, despite earlier leaks saying Apple will use an older chip on the base models. It’s not just an upgrade to the display chipset, but all of the models, including the base model, might get 12GB of RAM this year. This is presumably to run on-device AI models, which will help with the functionality of Apple Intelligence.
There are rumors of camera upgrades for the base and Plus iPhone models. While it’s not confirmed yet, the ‘Air’ model might get just a single camera, which is bizarre. Many leaks also expect a price increase for the entire lineup this time, thanks to an increase in taxes and worldwide tariffs.
