Vivo XPlay 7 Coming with Snapdragon 845 Processor and Under Screen Fingerprint Sensor

Consider any reason for the delay of an under-display fingerprint reader. Let it be the unavailability of a processor that can work with such technology or the missing and needy compatible hardware from smartphone manufacturers. Qualcomm chipset was already tested for compatibility with the fingerprint sensors. And Qualcomm may also unveil Snapdragon 845 SoC. It’s been a week since an under-screen fingerprint reader design was leaked, rumored to belong to Vivo XPlay 7.

An image appeared on Weibo; the user posted a complete PPT of the XPlay 7 with the whole smartphone design. These PPT shots exposed everything about the upcoming Vivo XPlay 7. However, it can’t be confirmed if XPlay 7 will be the first to feature an under-display fingerprint reader. Surprisingly, X20(XPlay 7 formally) will come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC. SD845 seems to be the flagship processor of 2018.

The design looks pretty fascinating, with minimal bezels. However, the leaked photograph convinced us to have a 100% body-to-screen ratio, i.e., no bezels in the front. It has also been mentioned on the box with 100% in Chinese. But look at the placement of the front camera; it seems the bezel color and display color have been matched only. But still, if this is the final design, the display part with an under-screen fingerprint reader, XPlay 7, would receive great popularity.

XPlay 7, the Snapdragon 845, and a decent-looking display will feature a dual-camera setup. The PPT shows a Sony IMX401 sensor, the predecessor of the IMX400 series sensor. As mentioned, these sensors feature 4X optical zoom for the first time in a smartphone camera.

Vivo XPlay 7 is rumored to be priced around Rs.30,000 in India, but if the company follows its footprint. The pricing may vary. It will increase.

As Vivo X20/XPlay 7 features a Snapdragon 845 processor, the market might have to wait a little longer for this device because even the SD845 would be unveiled after the first quarter of 2018 passes. Samsung S9 or S9 Plus seems to be the top contender to feature 845 SoC initially. So, considering the SoC’s availability, this smartphone’s expected launch date is near April or May 2018.

Considering the leaked PPT of Vivo XPlay 7, this smartphone will come with eight gigs of RAM and two physical storage variants with 128GB and 256GB. Since Samsung and Apple don’t seem to be in action regarding the under-screen fingerprint reader, it can be concluded Vivo XPlay 7 will be the first to showcase the same in the market initially, along with the Snapdragon 845 processor.

This phone looks a lot sleeky and thin with rounded corners. It has dual speakers at the bottom. Previously, it was rumored to have three rear cameras, but it would feature dual rear and dual front-facing cameras. As far as the megapixels are concerned, they could be even more than expected.
