Samsung Galaxy A5, A7 (2018) Gets FCC Certification

There are a lot of recent reports of the Galaxy A series, which is set to launch in the first quarter of 2018. Now, two Samsung smartphones, Galaxy A5 and Galaxy A7, have been spotted passing through the FCC to get its US sales license.

The Galaxy A5 (2018) was listed as model number A530N, showing the device will sport a dual-band Wi-Fi support. It also confirmed the device would have an e-label for its FCC-mandated disclaimers, which should help eliminate a few ugly icons on the back of the phone.

The smartphone was also seen in the HTML5 test with the same model number SM-A530F. It revealed the screen display to have a longer panel with an 18:9 aspect ratio but a very low resolution of 412 x 846. It’s rumored to be powered by the Exynos 7885 chipset with 4 GB RAM.

The Samsung Galaxy A7 (2018) also cleared the FCC with model SM-A730F. There is not much information we get from FCC listings, but we know there will be at least two main variants having either a single SIM (SM-A730F) or dual SIM (SM-A730F/DS) configuration. The smartphone with the same model number was previously seen benchmarked in GFXBench.

The device will be powered by an Exynos 7885 chipset manufactured on the 10 nm FinFET process. It contains 6 ARM Cortex-A53 cores, a dual-core Cortex-A73 unit, and a Mali-G71 GPU. It will have 6 GB of RAM and will likely have a 6-inch 18:9 aspect ratio display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080 pixels.

The smartphone will take design cues from the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices.
