OPPO is unveiling the hyped OPPO F5 Selfie Expert Smartphone on October 26. A new rumor claims OPPO will reveal the OPPO R11S at the beginning of next month. Freshly leaked pictures have surfaced online. We take a look at the new OPPO R11S and its variants.
OPPO launched its R11 and OPPO R11 Plus smartphones in China in June. The smartphone didn’t make it to India, and there are rumors that it may come to India soon. New reports suggest OPPO is working on an enhanced version of the OPPO R11 named OPPO R11S and R11S Plus. Today, a new poster containing the OPPO R11S and OPPO R11S Plus has surfaced online.
This is not the first time the smartphones have leaked. This week, only the smartphone details with their specifications surfaced. Based on the reports, the OPPO R11S and R11S Plus would feature a full screen with almost no bezels. This device is expected to feature 6-inch QHD+ Samsung OLED screens, an aspect ratio of 18:9, and support a resolution of 2,880 x 1,440 pixels.
The images show the fingerprint sensor to be mounted on the back of the device. According to some rumors, the device will be fitted with dual selfie cameras, considering OPPO’s fixation with selfies. But the images show no such thing, and we see only a single camera. The dual camera on the device is rumored to come with the 0.9μm 24-megapixel Samsung S5K2X7 sensor as one of the lenses. The predecessors feature a dual setup camera on the back: a combination of a 16-megapixel camera wide-angle lens with a bright f/1.7 aperture and PDAF coupled with a 20-megapixel telephoto lens with aperture f/2.6.They both had 2x optical zoom and Qualcomm Spectra ISP for image processing. The successors are expected to follow the same. Also, the device will be ditching the old 3.5mm audio jack and feature a USB Type C port.
There were no speculations about the processor. But considering the OPPO R11 and OPPO R11 Plus were both run by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 chipset, the new OPPO R11S will run the same processor. But the OPPO R11S Plus is rumored to feature the Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 chipset along with 6 GB of RAM.
The new poster leaked today confirms most of the speculation. The device does feature a large and elongated display with almost no bezels. However, the image is not clear enough to make out the front camera, but it looks like the rear contains a dual-camera setup. The poster says the OPPO R11S will have 4 GB of RAM backed by a 3205 mAh battery, and the OPPO R11S Plus will have 6 GB of RAM and a 4000 mAh battery.
Recently, four variants of the OPPO R11, dubbed as OPPO R11S, OPPO R11ST, OPPO R11S Plus, and OPPO R11S PlusT were revealed through its 3C approval. This approval confirmed that the devices would come with 5V/4A VOOC fast charging technology and will likely come in Black and White variants. Also, according to a report, the POP R11 and the OPPO R1 Plus have been certified by the Chinese certification website, TENAA.
As for the pricing, the OPPO R11S and the OPPO R11S Plus are rumored to come with a price tag of 2,999 Yuan (Rs 29,575 approx) and 3,499 Yuan ( Rs 34,515 ), respectively, which will put them against the likes of OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T rumored to launch in November too. Both the OPPO devices are expected to be announced on November 2 this year in China.
