We knew the OPPO R11S was in development. But last night, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO made it official and announced that it would launch its R11S smartphone on November 2. The company announced this news in a post on Weibo.
Let’s look at the successor of OPPO R11, which was a tremendous success.
The teaser confirms that the smartphone will feature a metal unibody, dual rear cameras, and rear-mounted fingerprint sensors. The AnTuTu listing reveals more detailed specifications about the device. The device will be powered by an Octa-Core Snapdragon 660 14nm Mobile Platform and supported by an Adreno 512 GPU in the graphics department. The benchmark reveals the RAM to be 4 GB while we get 64 GB internal memory. The dual camera’s specs are the most interesting. They have a 20-megapixel sensor on each! With additional software, we could be seeing one of the best cameras we have seen this year. The rear has a fingerprint sensor and will ship with OPPO’s ColorOS based on Android 7.1 Nougat.
We know the display will feature a resolution of HD+ (1080×2160 pixels) and an 18:9 aspect ratio. However, we have no info about the screen size. As per speculation, it will have a 6-inch screen. Also, the front-facing cam is expected to be 16 MP. A 3,205mAh battery with VOOC Flash Charging support will back the OPPO R11s. Connectivity options on the device will include GPS, WiFi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), GLONASS, Bluetooth 4.2, and 4G VoLTE. The device is seen in red color option but may come with additional black and white.
According to rumors, there will be a bigger variant of the OPPO R11, which will be named OPPO R11 Plus, which will be bigger. Both phones are expected to be released together. The OPPO R11 Plus will have 6 GB of RAM, a full HD+ display, and a bigger 4,000 mAh battery. According to a previous leak on the Chinese Compulsory Certification website, the OPPO R11s have four variants.
From an Earlier report, the company was seen teasing the smartphone in nine locations around Shenzhen, “showing off” its features like dual cameras, bigger and more efficient battery, bigger screen, better night shots, and intelligent beauty mode.
As stated, OPPO is geared up for its launch on November 2 in China. However, before that, it will launch the hyped OPPO F5 smartphone on October 26. Interestingly, OPPO is releasing the F5 on November 2 in India.
