Intex Launches Aqua Lions X1 and X1+ with One-Time Screen Replacement Offer

Indian smartphone manufacturer Intex has launched two budget 4G enabled Android smartphones. Dubbed as Aqua Lions X1+ and Aqua Lions X1, the two phones come with unbreakable displays as per Intex, a handy feature especially for us Indians. Commenting on the launch, Director of Intex technology Nidhi Markanday said, “The shatterproof series, Aqua Lions X1 and Aqua Lions X1+, is our latest tech marvel, a symbol of style, strength and performance for the ubiquitous users and the market. For this Diwali, we have brought out a complete package having all the right features – 3GB RAM, fingerprint sensor, big battery and latest OS for the tech-savvy consumers. We are sure the shatterproof series will give consumers stress-free handling of their smartphone and will be a delight for all.”

There are not many smartphones offering shatterproof displays like the Moto X Force and Moto Z2 Force. But the two smartphones from Intex are the only ones with a budget price. Not only that Intex even offers one-time screen replacement that can be availed within a year with both the smartphones along with up to 25GB of additional 4G data from Reliance Jio. Intex Aqua Lions X1+ and Aqua Lions X1 sports a 5.2-inch HD IPS display with a screen resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. We are a tad disappointed that we are not getting full HD(1080p) where other devices are offering at this price range. Both of the devices are available in three colour variants- Black, Champagne and Blue.

Inside the hood, Intex Aqua Lions X1+ and Aqua Lions X1 are powered by 1.3GHz Quad-core MediaTek MT6737 64-bit Processor with 650MHz Mali-T720 MP1 GPU. The X1+ features 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage while the X1 features a 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. The memory is further expandable up to 128GB via micro SD card.

At the back, the smartphones feature a 13-megapixel rear camera with LED flash along with a fingerprint sensor. On the front, there is a 5-megapixel sensor for video calling and selfies. The devices are backed by a 2800mAh battery, which claims to deliver talk-time up to 6-7 hours along with a standby time of at least 7-8 days. The battery does not look good, and we expected battery around 3500mAh. The device runs on Android 7.0 (Nougat) OS. The smartphones also come with the new data saving app DataBack, which returns the data used. Some pre-loaded apps are there like Prime Videos, MiFon Security, and SwiftKey.

The Intex Aqua Lions X1 and Aqua Lions X1+ are priced at Rs. 7,499 and Rs. 8,499 respectively. Interesting Xolo released three smartphones on the same day -the Era 3X (Rs 7,499), Era 2V (Rs 6,499), and Era 3 (Rs 4,999), that comes with one-time screen replacement for one year.
